Cloud9 defeat Liquid at ECS S4 Finals

Cloud9 have eliminated Liquid from the ECS Season 4 Finals after defeating their North American rivals on two maps.
The North American derby kicked off on Mirage, Cloud9's map pick, with Liquid quickly taking control of the A bombsite but failing to stop the retake from their opponents. After buying up in the third round, Liquid managed to win their first round of the game with an A execution.
Cloud9 remained in charge of proceedings, though, winning four of the next five rounds, but Nick "nitr0" Cannella's men picked up the pace towards the end of the half and brought the deficit to a minimum.
Now playing as Terrorists, Cloud9 secured the pistol round with a 2v4 clutch from Tarik "tarik" Celik and Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham. That was the start of a great run from the North American team, who increased their lead to 14-9.
Lucas "steel" Lopes and co. did not want to back down, and won two straight rounds with a very tight defense, forcing Cloud9 to call a tactical pause. Liquid eventually equalised the score at 14-14, but Cloud9 would not let a comeback happen and bagged the final two rounds of the game.
Liquid began their map pick, Inferno, on the right foot, securing the CT pistol and an anti-eco. And even though Cloud9's third-round buy paid off, nitr0 immediately broke their economy with a quad-kill in the following round, setting his team up for a 4-1 lead.
Cloud9 then responded with a four-round streak to secure a narrow lead, but Liquid picked themselves up and went on a great run, closing out the half with a 9-6 lead.
Cloud9 got off to a flying start in the second half, picking up six rounds in a row fairly easily. Liquid were only able to break through on Cloud9's defence in the 23rd round, but Timothy "autimatic" Ta and co. just kept pressing on, locking down the map in convincing fashion.
