mousesports move on to BLAST Premier Fall Showdown semis over Heroic

A first encounter between the two teams in 2020 ended with Finn "karrigan" Andersen's men on top as MOUZ are now one win away from a place in the Fall Finals.
After coming back from a narrow loss on the opening map against HEROIC, MOUZ secured a spot in the semi-finals at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, where they will take on the winner of Cloud9 and Complexity for a spot at the Fall Finals. Meanwhile, HEROIC exit the Showdown in 5th-8th place after accepting an invitation at the last minute, having replaced Evil Geniuses.
The second quarter-final of the tournament began on Mirage, where the two teams engaged in a tug of war with neither side looking favored until late in the opening map. MOUZ were the first to strike on the back of Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras's 1v4 clutch in the pistol round and looked to amass a good run on the Terrorist side, but a halfbuy win from HEROIC stopped them in their tracks in the fifth round and the two teams went on to trade blows until the end of the half.

The European squad picked up another four-round streak off a second pistol victory but once again couldn't remain in the lead, with HEROIC finding their groove once they kept MOUZ on their toes with individual picks while René "TeSeS" Madsen ran rampant. At the end, karrigan's men tried to overturn three map points, but fell at the last hurdle to lose the opener 14-16.
MOUZ made up for the loss on their own pick with a dominant display on Nuke, where they put up a wall on the defense to clinch 11 rounds and went on to equalize the series without too much of a worry, with everyone pulling their own weight.
So it all came down to Train. With David "frozen" Čerňanský looking in amazing shape, the European squad thrived on the offense and secured 10 rounds despite losing the opening pistol round while HEROIC struggled to make their defense work. Once sides switched, MOUZ kept the pressure up with a forcebuy win in the second round and rallied to a spot in the semi-finals with another rather lopsided win.
